How To Witness To Muslims 3

You can use the Quran as a bridge to the gospel. The Quran urges Muslims to read the Taurat (law), Zabur (Writings and Prophets), and Injil (Gospel). Get them reading the Bible for themselves. The Quran speaks well of Moses and of Jesus. Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible. Since the law is in Exodus 20 and God*s purpose for the law was to be as a schoolmaster to bring men to Christ it would be helpful to get them to read those five books.

Surah 2:53 And remember We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion (between right and wrong); There was a chance for you to be guided aright.

Christians and Muslims believe that physical death and spiritual death are caused by sin. Both agree that God accepts the blood of a substitute to punish sin.

Eid-Korbani is the Muslim practice of the animal sacrifices in which they share the meat from an animal. You might ask them if they celebrate Eid-Korbani. You might ask them if they believe God provided a ram as a substitute to Abraham so he didn*t have to sacrifice his son.

Surah 60:6: And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: *O Children of Israel I am the messenger . . .

Surah 5:46: And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel; therein was guidance and Light and confirmation of the Law that had come before him . . .

You might ask them Why is Jesus highly regarded in Islam as one of the most important prophets of all time, and yet most Muslims are forbidden to read his message?

You might ask them *Why do Muslim leaders say the Christian Bible has been corrupted (changed) in spite of the fact that Muhammad recommended the Christian bible as good reading material in his day, considering it preserved/uncorrupted?*

Surah 5:68: Say: O People of the Book! Ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law, the Gospel, and the revelation that has come to you from your Lord . . .

Muhammad agreed that the Law was important and gave guidance and light. Muhammad admitted that Jesus confirmed the Law and that the Gospel was given to Him.

You might suggest: *Now let us look at the Gospel which Jesus taught . . .*

Build deep and genuine relationships, love them sincerely. Don*t wait to earn their trust. Let Muslims know from the beginning your desire to share the Gospel with them. Speak with conviction about the truth. Don*t be diplomatic. Tell it like it is but don*t be rude or criticize Mohammed or the Quran directly. Do that only after they have believed. Go with boldness to love them into the kingdom rather than fear in running away from them. Concentrate on the Eternal Kingdom of God, not geopolitics, the temporal USA, or terrorism. Pray and depend on the Spirit, use the Word, show hospitality and common human respect for all men. Sharing the gospel with them should include the same truths you would share with anyone else:

All are sinners.

Romans 3:19-20 teach that all are accountable to God and no one will be declared righteous by observing the law; rather through the law we become conscious of sin.

Matthew 5:45: Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

None of us can reach the standard of perfection necessary to gain eternal life based on our own perfection. We all break the law and fall short of God*s standard of perfection.

Romans 3:23: For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

The punishment for sin is spiritual/eternal death.

In John 3:3, 6 Jesus confirms that this spiritual death has taken place when he teaches the need for a spiritual birth: I tell you the truth, no one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again . . . Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

Jesus, the prophet has spoken and we must take his words seriously: No one calling himself a Jew (no matter how religious) can enter the kingdom of God unless he is first reborn of the Spirit. The same is true of all humans; whether Muslim Jew or Christian.

Many Muslims will be aware of the historical sins of the Roman Catholic church. We are Bible-believers. We repudiate the Roman Catholic Church as the prostitute church, not the bride of Christ because: The Catholic church is stained with the blood of untold millions. It is involved in organized crime, the subversion of world governments for political gain and destabilizing world economics for its financial gain. It led the 7 Crusades for 200 years, which began under the Roman pope Urban II in AD 1095. The forgiveness of sins was promised to those who killed Muslims in an effort to gain control of Jerusalem. Women were raped. Children were brought into slavery and even sent on suicidal military conquests. It led the fight against Jews and Bible-believing Christians. Since her inception under Constantine around AD 313, Catholicism has persecuted and killed countless Bible-believers. Muslim countries even offered asylum to Bible-believers who were persecuted by Catholics during the edieval days and were granted refugee status.

The sins of the Roman Catholic Church include: Idolatry, bowing down to images and icons, the worship of Mary, the use of amulets and good luck charms, the teaching that the Pope is infallible when speaking ex cathedra, the authority of tradition and the church replaces the authority of the Bible, Rome sold forgiveness of sins through indulgences. People bought indulgences before sinning, Catholicism teaches we go to heaven by doing good works (not by being born again).

Titus 3:5-6: Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

In the Inquisition, 1229-1800, Catholics demanded the death penalty for simply possessing the Bible. The Bible could not be translated so the common people could understand it.

Catholicism practices vainly repetitious prayers and outward showy empty religiosity, all of which Jesus condemned. Prayers . . . Matthew 6:5-14, fasting . . . Matthew 6:16-18 and giving alms to the poor in Matthew 6:1-4.

Catholicism is a political institution but Jesus taught that His kingdom is not of this world in John 18:36 and that we should love our enemies in Matthew 5:43-48.
